Many movie lovers wish they could watch their favorite movies for the first time again, and regain that awe and excitement of seeing that adventure for the first time, but just in case the Lord of the Rings The director of the Peter Jackson trilogy, he never enjoyed films as a member of the audience, due to how keenly he took an interest in the productions. The director recently remembered that he was so envious of other moviegoers that he considered undergoing hypnotherapy to make him forget that he made the films, which would give him the opportunity to consume the experience with new eyes.
“When we did the Lord of the Rings Movies I’ve always felt like I’m the unlucky person I’ve never seen as an upcoming movie,” Jackson shared with The Hollywood Reporter. “By the time the scan was being done, I had been immersed in it for five or six years. It was a loss for me because I couldn’t see them like everyone else. I seriously considered going to one of the hypnotherapy guys to hypnotize me that would make me forget about movies and work Which I’ve done for the past six or seven years so I can sit back and enjoy it. I didn’t follow it, but I talked to [British mentalist] Derren Brown about it and thought he could do it.”
After the success of that trilogy, Jackson was developing live-action adaptations of the hobbit, which Guillermo del Toro was originally on board to direct. When del Toro left the project, Jackson stepped in to manage all three installments, once again depriving him of the opportunity to enjoy the world of Middle-earth from a different perspective.
Fortunately, the upcoming TV series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power It is set at a completely different time from the events of the Lord of the Rings, allowing Jackson to enjoy adventure with whole new eyes. Interestingly, Jackson claims that Amazon Studios asked him to take part in the project, even though they never sent him any texts. Whether this is due to their desire to go in a different direction with the franchise or just an oversight of the connection is yet to be revealed.
